This Gurdwara is situated in Sector 34-D of Chandigarh (U.T.), India, which is a capital of Punjab and Haryana Government.
At present place of Gurdwara there was a village known as Fatehgarh (Madran). The land of village was acquired by the Administration of capital project, Chandigarh in 1971-72. The old Gurdwara; was being run by the villagers from the “Dharam shalla” of the village which was planned as sector 34. After the eviction of village the Gurdwara was taken over by the residents of sector 34. Since it was very small Gurdwara and could not serve the needs of Sikh Sangat, therefore, 6 kanal land was got allotted from the Chandigarh Administration in 1980. The 1st building was constructed and completed in 1984, After the lapse of time and increase in habitation. 3 kanal more land was got allotted in 1984 and additional building was constructed thereon. Now again to increase the services in the Gurdwara Sahib, 4 kanal more land has been got allotted and cost of which has been paid in full.
The plan of new building is being prepared and a building will be constructed accordingly. The residents of the village had faith that Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib and Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji had visited the place.
The Gurdwara is managed by the managing committee of Gurdwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Fatehgarh (Madran) (Regd.) Sector 34-D, Chandigarh and the executive committee is elected/selected by the General House of the society.
